I came across Alex Jones' blog, for those of you who don't know he is a radio host/investigative journalist/documentary filmmaker in Austin. It is interesting because it talks about the U.S. government raiding and confiscating wood from India at the Gibson factories in Memphis and Nashville Tennessee. The FBI had a warrant based on IT'S INTERPRETATION of India's laws. Apparently, Gibson violated India's export law. So they raided the factories and took the "evidence". I think that the government is trying to deindustrialize us. With the list of 4,000 new regulations by the EPA (928 new regulations within the past two years), along with all the other hoops you have to jump through our country is going down in flames. We are pushing more and more for 'big government', but I don't think anyone actually realizes what that means. If you believe that "redistributing the wealth' is a good thing, well I hate to break it to ya but you're a socialist. This can't go on very much longer, America. We are losing our freedoms everyday and nobody cares.
Everyone has heard of Gibson and probably seen at least one of their guitars before. The types of wood Gibson uses is mahogany, spruce, maple and holly from Canada, the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast. Now I'm no wood connoisseur or anything like that, but my instinct tells me that you can't just take any ol' piece of wood and make a guitar out of it AND expect it to sound halfway decent. In the warehouse where the guitars are kept there are misters in the ceilings to keep the inside of the building at 45% humidity.
Now with all that said, it sounds to me like the government is going out of it's way to blast you in the butt anyway they can. They will force you to use lower quality materials whether it leaves your company screwed or not. If they can get you to go out of business, even better. The government is operating under the guise of 'helping us'; when they're really not. Here's some advice America: Great minds don't think alike, great minds think for themselves.
